Officers say 37-year-old Jonathon Eric Kelly of Dunlap, Tennessee was found to be on Sequatchie County school property. Kelly, a registered sex offender, was observed by a detective driving a van on school property with three children also in the vehicle. Kelly is classified as a violent sex offender. Kelly was released from prison in November of 2017 and is currently on probation with the Tennessee Bureau of Probation and Parole. Additionally, he is required to wear an ankle GPS monitor. Officers performed a traffic stop on Kelly near the intersection of Elm Street and Buddy Skyles Road in Dunlap. The mother of the children was also in the vehicle with Kelly. She stated Kelly was not related to the children and that she had recently meet him. She further stated she was not aware that Kelly was a sex offender. Kelly was arrested for violating the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry and transported to the Sequatchie County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
