A traffic stop for a seat-belt violation on Dayton Spur Road in Cumberland County Saturday resulted in two arrests. A check of the driver’s license of 45-year-old Robert Lee Howard III of Spencer revealed a suspended status. A search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a stolen handgun and a glass pipe for drug use. Howard was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger, 41-year-old Penny Marie Stokes of Spencer, was arrested for theft of property.
