VOLKSWAGEN REACHES DEAL OVER FINAL CARS CONNECTED TO EMISSIONS CHEATING SCANDAL

Volkswagen says it has reached a deal with U.S. regulators and attorneys over the final cars connected to its emissions cheating scandal. The latest settlement includes a buy-back option and compensation for the remaining 83,000 Audi, Porsche and VW vehicles equipped with the software to cheat emissions tests. The German automaker had already reached a deal on 475,000 vehicles it sold that were equipped with the software. The company has previously agreed to spend as much as $10 billion to settle claims associated with the scandal. VW has a manufacturing plant in Chattanooga.
