A BUSY DAY FOR ROCKWOOD POLICE

At around noon today, the Rockwood Police assisted the Roane County Sheriff’s Department in a domestic incident just outside the city limits, off North Kingston Avenue. A man allegedly held a woman, believed to be his mother, against her will with a knife. Negotiations resolved the situation without harm, and the suspect was reportedly taken to Roane County Jail, facing domestic assault charges with additional charges possibly pending. The road near the home, located by Odd Fellows Cemetery and the old schoolhouse, was temporarily closed during the incident.
While addressing the domestic situation, Rockwood Police received a call about a disturbance at Walmart involving an argument near the pharmacy, where a man allegedly had a gun. However, both individuals involved had left the scene before police arrived and could not be located.
In a separate incident, Rockwood Police arrested one person in connection with the theft of a golf cart from the Rockwood Country Club. The cart was recovered at a home on North Chamberlain Avenue, and the police are continuing their investigation, with charges pending as they await further details.
