At around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to an alley in the 2500 block of Louise Avenue. A woman who had been shot at least one time was found unresponsive in a car parked in the alley. She was removed from the car and life-saving measures were rendered until she was transported to the UT Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Numerous individuals were interviewed at the scene, but a suspect has not been identified.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

The victim who was found shot in a car in an alley on Louise Avenue on Saturday has been identified as Jefasha Mitchell, 26 of of Knoxville. At this time, the circumstances that led to Jefasha’s death remain unclear.
