ACCIDENT INVOLVING DUI CHARGES SENDS ONE STUDENT TO UT MEDICAL CENTER

An accident in Rockwood Friday sent a 16-year-old Rockwood High School student to a regional trauma center. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that 44-year-old Steve E. Frizzell of Rockwood was traveling south on Delozier Lane toward Highway 70 while 22-year-old Kyler D. Hagler of Rockwood was traveling south. Troopers say that Frizzell failed to yield the right of way at the intersection and both vehicle’s collided. Frizzell’s Buick LeSabre was pushed over an embankment on top of a culvert. 16-year-old Ashley King, a passenger in the Buick, was injured and had to be airlifted to UT Medical Center. Her injuries were not revealed in the report. There were no other injuries and all occupants were restrained, however Frizzell was charged with DUI, vehicular assault and child endangerment.
