ACC– USED CHATTANOOGA SCHOOL BUS DRIVER’S TRIAL SCHEDULED TO BEGIN FEBRUARY 27

The trial of a Chattanooga school bus driver accused of 6 counts of vehicular homicide is scheduled for later this month and a judge will have to decide whether or not to allow certain witnesses to testify. At a hearing Monday, three witnesses testified that they heard the defendant Johnthony Walker curse at children, saw him driving too fast or making sudden stops. Walker is said to have been speeding and possibly talking on a cell phone that day in November 2016 when he crashed the school bus with 37 children on board. In all, Walker faces 34 charges. Walker’s trial is scheduled to begin on Feb. 27. His lawyers say that the emotional testimony is a distraction on whether Walker was driving the bus dangerously.
