Yesterday, at approximately 17:36 p.m., Deputy John Coley responded to the area of Lantana Road after a caller reported a dark-colored Honda Sedan driving recklessly and all over the road.

Coley approached the vehicle and conducted a registration check, which revealed that it was registered to Jose Enrique Vasquez Aguilar. Coley initiated a traffic stop on 4th Street and School Street and, upon contacting the driver, observed the strong odor of alcohol on or about his person.

Aguilar exited the vehicle upon request and was unsteady on his feet with bloodshot eyes. Aguilar claimed to have only had 2 beers. Due to a strong language barrier, a Spanish-speaking officer was contacted to translate and Aguilar was asked to take part in Field Sobriety testing, to which he failed.

Aguilar was placed under arrest for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of alcohol and transported to Cumberland County Jail for processing.
