ALEXANDRA BILYEU ARRESTED FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION AFTER WALKING IN TRAFFIC WITH METAL BAR

A local woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after deputies found her wandering down the middle of a Cumberland County road while swinging a metal bar.

According to an incident report from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Jason Powers was on patrol just before 3:00 a.m. on September 1, 2026, when he encountered 26-year-old Alexandra Paige Bilyeu on Vandever Road.

Authorities stated that Bilyeu was walking in the active lane of travel near Brewer Road waving the metal bar. When the deputy made contact, Bilyeu displayed erratic behavior, including dilated pupils, and complained that the patrol vehicle’s lights were blinding her.

Bilyeu was taken into custody at approximately 3:15 a.m. and charged with public intoxication. During her transport to the intake facility, deputies noted that she conversed with people who were not present and licked the windows of the patrol car.

She is scheduled to appear in court on October 19, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
