The Algood City Council is yet faced with another resignation. This week Dr. Richard Heard vacated the seat after his move out of the city limits, which makes him ineligible to sit on the council. His seat is up for re-election in August 2018. Heard’s resignation leaves two vacancies on the council and also leaves the members without a quorum, which means it will be impossible for the group to vote on anything until at least one seat is filled. The council has been looking to fill an empty seat since February. The candidates that have been looked at previously include Becky Rios Morrison, Bill Bilbrey, Scott Winningham and Bobby Randolph. The council’s next meeting will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
