ALMOST 100,000 HONDA VEHICLES RECALLED FOR AIRBAG ISSUE
Honda is recalling nearly 100,000 vehicles due to a potential issue with the front passenger seat weight sensor. The sensor may crack and short circuit, which could cause the airbags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.
Affected models include various years of the Acura TLX, RDX, and MDX; Honda Ridgeline, Pilot, Passport, Odyssey, Insight, HR-V, Fit, CR-V (including Hybrid), Civic (including hatchback, coupe, and Type R), and Accord (including Hybrid).
Dealers will replace the seat weight sensors free of charge. Honda plans to notify owners by mail in July. For more information, owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
