RESCUE SQUAD RESPONDS TO STRANDED KAYAKERS IN MORGAN COUNTY
Heavy rainfall early Saturday morning triggered a swift rescue operation in Morgan County after a group of kayakers became stranded on the rising and rapidly changing waters of the Obed and Emory rivers between Oakdale and Harriman. Fortunately, rescue squad members successfully located the group, and no injuries were reported.
The torrential downpour also flooded several regional roadways, prompting flood watches and warnings throughout the weekend, though authorities confirmed that no fatalities have been linked to the high waters. While additional rain is expected to move into the area this evening, forecasters are hopeful it will be less intense than Saturday’s storms.
