ALMOST 230,000 COLEMAN SUSPENSION CHAIRS RECALLED; AMPUTATION RISK

The Coleman Company has issued a recall for approximately 228,760 Converta camping cots (model numbers 2000003077 and 2000020282) and Converta camping suspension stretchers (model number 2000020290) in the U.S., along with about 438 units in Canada, due to a hazardous backrest fold mechanism that can pinch consumers’ fingers, posing risks of laceration and amputation.

The recalled products, identifiable by model numbers on a hang tag and featuring tan or white fabric with the Coleman logo on black steel frames, were sold at Walmart, other nationwide stores, and online at Amazon from January 2011 to March 2025 for $60 to $80. Seven incidents have been reported, including two cases of fractured fingers.

Consumers are urged to stop using the affected cots and stretchers immediately and contact The Coleman Company at 800-345-3278 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday) or visit https://recall.coleman.com/ to verify their model and register for a free repair kit with installation instructions.

The products were manufactured in China by Newell Brands Inc., an affiliate of The Coleman Company, based in Atlanta, Georgia.

The recall number is 25-253, announced on June 26, 2025.
