An Anderson County man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after reportedly discharging a firearm at a woman. Clinton police went to a residence on the 600 block of Blockhouse Valley Road where several shots were reportedly fired. Police say the victim told them 56-year-old Sidney Jarvis had fired a gun at her three times and threatened to kill her. Authorities were familiar with Jarvis from repeated calls to the home in the past, the most recent three weeks ago. Along with the attempted-murder charge, Jarvis was also arrested for domestic assault.
