AREA FISHING REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 21, 2020
WATTS BAR
Reservoir Conditions: Water temperature is 49.5 degrees. The elevation is 738.55 feet. This is above the normal winter elevation, but below summer elevation.
Walleye/Sauger/White Bass: Sauger, white bass, and walleye are being caught in the water below Ft. Loudoun Dam. A jig bounced along the bottom is the technique used most. Some anglers casting crankbaits are catching these tailwater fish.
Bass: Bass are being caught around points on jerkbaits and A-rigs. Some shallow bass are being caught while using lipless lures.
Crappie: Crappie are being caught while using minnows or jigs while drifting primary creeks. Some crappie are being caught in brush piles in secondary water in depths of 10 to 20 feet.

Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is good. The water temperature is 48 degrees and the lake is falling.
Smallmouth Bass: Several big smallmouth are being caught while fishing the float-and-fly method on channel banks and points in the clear water. Also several good smallmouth are being caught on shiners, shad, and crankbaits while fishing colored water in 5-20 feet of water.
Largemouth Bass: Several largemouth are being caught on jigs while fishing wood in 15-20 feet of water.
