ARMED INCIDENT RESULTS IN GANTT GOING TO JAIL

Crossville police responded to a disturbance earlier this week at a dwelling on Park Place. A vehicle pulled up and the driver dropped off 61-year-old Michael Ray Gantt. The report states Gantt appeared to be intoxicated to officers and he was advised multiple times to go to his apartment. He did so and law enforcement went back to dealing with the original call.

A few minutes later, Gantt allegedly came out of his residence holding a rifle and turned toward police in a threatening manner. He was instructed to drop the firearm several times and Gantt refused. He was later disarmed and arrested on two counts of aggravated assault against a first responder.
