ARMED SUSPECT AT LARGE IN NORTH KNOX COUNTY
KNOX COUNTY, TN- Knox County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Major Crimes Units are on the scene of a shooting that occurred before 11 am behind Rural King in Halls.
Sheriff Tom Spangler says the suspect remains at large, and KCSO is working to identify the suspect. He’s asking nearby businesses and homeowners to take safety precautions and stay vigilant.
We are asking everyone to avoid the area of the shooting.
White male in his late teens or early twenties, brown/black hair, approximately 5’8 – 5’10, 145-165 pounds, wearing a light gray hoodie w/ emblem of some type on the front. Possibly in dark gray sweatpants or light gray shorts, carrying a blue backpack, and wearing blue and white tennis shoes, the suspect could be wearing a toboggan.
THE SUSPECT IS ARMED – DO NOT APPROACH – CALL 911.
Sheriff Spangler said in a press conference that the employee and suspect got into a “scuffle” behind the business when the suspect shot the employee. Officials said the employee, a white male approximately age 23, died in the shooting.
