AROUND 10,000 TNREADY TESTS SCORED INACCURATELY

Tennessee education officials say that it’s possible that around 10,000 assessment tests given across the state to school students were scored inaccurately. Out of approximately 600,000 TNReady tests that were taken last year by students, about 9,400 of the tests had wrong scoring. According to the Commercial Appeal, about 1,700 of those incorrect tests actually wound up with a different overall score and those scores did not affect statewide results. Because TVAAS teacher assessment scores partially rely on student test results, the scores for about 230 statewide educators will need to be recalculated. Questar Assessment, the company that administers and scores TNReady tests apologized for the errors in a statement. They say the inaccurate scores were due to the company’s incorrectly updating its scanning software.
