ARREST MADE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY AFTER WOMAN DRAGGED BY VEHICLE

Cumberland County deputies responded to a residence on Grouse Terrace in Fairfield Glade for a physical altercation.

The arrest report states the suspect, 29-year-old Casey Tyler Lightsey, fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. They caught up with Lightsey on Rugby Road at Royal Circle.

An officer spoke with the female victim in the incident. She told law enforcement they had an argument over her phone Lightsey was trying to leave with. He allegedly pushed her out of the way, causing her to strike a piece of furniture. Officers noted the chest of drawers had blood on the top drawer.

Lightsey and the victim went outside arguing. The report states the victim ended up tumbling down some stairs.

Lightsey got into a vehicle and started to drive away. The victim grabbed his neck in an attempt to hold on and not fall from the moving automobile. Deputies stated it resulted in the victim being drug by the car. Officers noted injuries to the victim to her hip and buttocks area, consistent with her story of the car dragging her. The report states there were blood stains on the driver’s side front and back doors.

Deputies noted a 6-inch long scratch on her back and scratches on her stomach.

Lightsey was arrested for aggravated domestic assault. He was taken to the Cumberland County jail and initially placed under a $20,000 bond.
