ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES LODGED AFTER SHOOTING IN POWELL

Two teens and a 20-year-old have been charged with attempted murder after a shooting late Monday afternoon, according to Knox County authorities.

Knox County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of shots fired at Heiskell Road and Gardner Lane around 5:30.

An investigation concluded two of the suspects,18-year-old Noah Priester and 20-year-old Nicholas England, were attempting to elude law enforcement prior to the shooting by fleeing in a getaway vehicle driven by the third suspect,18-year-old Kayelin Martin.

The arrest report reveals Priester and England got out of the vehicle and fired multiple shots into the windshield of the victim’s vehicle.

Priester fled the scene on foot; England attempted to hide the firearm and intended to get picked up by Martin.

All three were charged with first-degree attempted murder.

Priester was also charged with using a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. He was placed under $120,000 bond.

England was also charged with facilitation; his bond was set at $65,000.

Martin was also charged with facilitation and simple possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $65,750.

A juvenile involved in the incident was issued a citation and released.
