Knoxville police confirm a female passed away after being struck by several vehicles on I-40 last night. Authorities responded to a crash involving a pedestrian just east of West Hills around 9:45 p.m. Preliminary information indicates the woman jumped in front of oncoming traffic and was hit by multiple automobiles. None of the vehicles that made contact with the victim remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
