HURRICANE WARNING ISSUED FOR LOUISIANA COAST AS ZETA APPROACHES

Louisiana will be glad when this hurricane season is over.

The state has taken a beating from multiple hurricanes this year and is set to be hit again. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for the state including New Orleans as what will be Hurricane Zeta is expected to make landfall tomorrow. The warning runs east to Mobile, Alabama.

Zeta, the 27th named storm in a very busy Atlantic season, impacted just north of the ancient Mayan city of Tulum with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. It weakened to a tropical storm as it crossed over land, but it was expected to regain strength and hurricane status over the Gulf of Mexico.

For Tennessee, Zeta should weaken to a tropical depression and bring heavy rain and gusty winds late tomorrow into early Thursday (October 29, 2020). Wind gust up to 30 miles per hour will be possible on the plateau and 40 miles per hour plus in the mountains on the Tennessee/North Carolina border. Several inches of rainfall is also possible.
