The Cumberland County Circuit Criminal Court has scheduled a key legal deadline for Becca Jo Sparks, who faces serious felony charges stemming from a shooting incident in May 2025. Court dockets show Sparks is scheduled for a deadline hearing on September 1, 2026, represented by the Public Defender’s office. She currently faces charges of Attempted First-Degree Murder and Violation of an Order of Protection/Restraining Order, with her bond set at $800,000.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) affidavit of complaint filed by Special Agent Shawn Scott, the charges trace back to May 13, 2025. At approximately 3:45 a.m., Cumberland County Dispatch received a self-reporting call from Sparks stating she had just shot someone and was driving to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Sparks told law enforcement she traveled to a business on Highway 70 East, fired into a parked semi-truck intending to shoot someone, and fled after realizing the occupant was someone else. Investigators confirmed that an unrelated individual was inside the semi-truck at the time of the shooting.
