It’s that time of the year again for some gift purchases delivered to homes. But “porch pirates” or those who steal packages left by delivery services are out and about looking to take your holiday joy.

A Cumberland County deputy took a report yesterday at a home on Sandy Creek Road where a package was stolen.

If you have an item delivered and you will not be present to receive it, have it sent to the home of a relative or friend that you know will be there. You can also have the package held at your local post office for pickup or take advantage of the “Ship to Store” option many business offers.
