BLACKHAWK HELICOPTER MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING IN OVERTON COUNTY

No injuries were reported after a Black Hawk helicopter made an emergency landing today at the Livingston Municipal Airport in Overton County. Officials say smoke entered the cockpit while the aircraft was en route from South Carolina to Nebraska. The pilot called for an emergency landing at the airport. Police, fire and medical crews scrambled to the airport to be on standby. Officials say the Black Hawk landed safely. A probable cause of the smoke was from a windshield wiper motor overheating. The issue was addressed and the Black Hawk and its crew resumed their flight this afternoon. (Story note – the Black Hawk in the picture is a generic image and not the one involved today in Overton County)
