On July 25, 2025, a fatal head-on collision occurred on Lantana Road in Cumberland County involving a 2007 GMC Sierra driven by 18-year-old Colt W. Seiber and a 2017 Toyota RAV4 driven by 60-year-old Dennis W. Woodring, an officer with the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary report, Seiber’s vehicle, traveling south, veered off the right side of the roadway, and in an attempt to correct, crossed into the northbound lane, striking Woodring’s vehicle. Both vehicles rotated counter-clockwise and came to rest, blocking both lanes.

Seiber sustained injuries, while Woodring was fatally injured. A passenger in Seiber’s vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt, and their injury status was not specified.

The investigation into potential charges is pending, with no charges filed at the time of the report.
