BODY FOUND IN FORT LOUDOUN LAKE ON FRIDAY; IDENTITY CONFIRMED

On Friday morning, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) responded to a possible drowning at Fort Loudoun Lake near George’s Creek in Blount County, Tennessee, around 11:18 a.m. Wildlife officers discovered the body of Terry Alexander, a 63-year-old Maryville man, floating face down in the water near an unmanned Ranger bass boat that was circling nearby.

The Blount County Rescue Squad recovered Alexander’s body, and he was transported to UT Medical Center in Knoxville, where he was pronounced dead. TWRA officers secured the vessel, and the agency noted this incident as the 19th boating-related fatality in Tennessee waterways this year. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
