BREAKING NEWS – MURDER INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN LOUDON COUNTY

BREAKING NEWS – The Loudon County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide that took place last night.

105.7 News has learned the victim is 35-year-old Jacob Dean Bishop, a military veteran who was found deceased at a home on Shaw Ferry Road in Lenoir City.

“At approximately 7:43 am this morning, our patrol division was dispatched by Loudon County E-911 Dispatchers to the report of a male who was found unconscious and unresponsive”, said Sheriff Tim Guider. “Once patrol deputies arrived on scene, it was quickly determined that foul play was involved and that the male was a victim of a homicide”.

“At this time, we are able to confirm that this is an active murder investigation. Our Criminal Investigations Division Detectives are working diligently to gather the evidence and facts from the scene”, said Sheriff Guider.

Assistant District Attorney General Bob Edwards told 105.7 News there is “no question this is a homicide investigation.”

Edwards said Bishop was found tied up and shot more than once.

The district attorney’s office says an autopsy of Bishop will take place tomorrow.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called to assist the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department with the case that potentially involves Knox and Roane County, according to the district attorney’s office.

This is a breaking news story and more information will be released at a later time.
