BREAKING NEWS – (1:50 p.m. central, Thursday, July 29, 2021) – Crossville police and medics are responding to Sonic on North Main Street after an employee was struck by a motorist. The victim in her 20’s sustained non-life threatening injuries.

witness at the scene reported:

“The driver was pulling into a stall to order while the worker was handing food to the stall next to them. The employee stepped into the path of the vehicle a tire ran over their foot. The driver got out and asked the worker if they were okay. The employee managed to walk back into the restaurant. The employee said they were fine. The driver came inside Sonic and asked a second time. Again they were told the same reply. The driver went back to their car and tried to order their food but the menu button was inoperable so they pulled out and left. The motorist was then notified by a law enforcement officer they needed to come back because the worker was now wanting to file a police report.”

This makes the second citizen to be contacted by an automobile in the past 24 hours in the city.

The incident yesterday involved an elderly female injured in the parking lot of Walmart. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
