BREAKING NEWS – POSSIBLE TORNADO HITS PLEASANT HILL IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

BREAKING NEWS – A possible tornado hit near Pleasant Hill Elementary School causing minor damage a few minutes ago. All students are accounted for and safe. First responders are out look for damage. Three high school students were first reported missing walking from the school but are safe. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning a few minutes after it was reportedly seen by a law enforcement officer.

A roof of a community center in Pleasant Hill sustained significant damage.

At 3:30 p.m. central, a funnel cloud was reported between North Elementary School and the Woody community heading northeast. North Elementary School has been placed on a lockdown until the tornadic cell leaves the area. Also all school buses in this area have stopped to allow time for the storm to clear.

Scott Blaylock with the Cumberland County Road Department says his crews are clearing debris on Bud Tanner Road as well as Browntown Road. It blew over several trees and blocked Main Street in Pleasant Hill for a short time, but the road has been cleared.

An updated report indicates five people were treated for minor injuries.
