***BREAKING NEWS***CHATTANOOGA POLICE OFFICER SHOT, SEARCH FOR SUSPECT UNDERWAY
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga Police say one of their officers was shot several times Thursday morning, and a search for the suspect investigators believe was responsible continues. Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher says the officer was shot 3 times while he was inspecting a home for squatters. The officer reportedly drove himself to the hospital after being shot. Fletcher says the officer is recovering.
The suspect is a black male with medium complexion, wearing dark pants & a dark sweatshirt, about 5′ 10″ and medium build.
This happened a little after 9 a.m. at 1005 Mission Avenue, near Glenwood Drive.
