BURGLARY AT HIGHWAY 70 EAST HOME
Yesterday, Deputy Jeffrey Brown responded to a house on Highway 70 East that was reported as being broken into. Upon arriving, the deputy made contact with the homeowner who said that the house is where her son was staying but he was currently out of state for work.
She said she noticed the door was open when she pulled in the driveway and immediately contacted 911. The deputy then cleared the residence since the homeowner said that she has not went inside due to the door being open.
Due to the homeowner’s son being out of state, the deputy was only able to get part of the items missing from the residence. The homeowner’s son said that he would be back in town later this week and would contact the sheriff’s office with a more detailed list of what was stolen.
Among the items confirmed stolen were two acoustic guitars valued at $200 and $400 respectively, an electric guitar valued at $750, a sound system and subwoofer valued at $450, a 32-in curved gaming monitor valued at $300, and a Smith& Wesson 9 mm handgun valued at $450.
There was also apparently an attempt to steal a Vizio TV from off of a wall, but the burglars were seemingly unable to get it off of the wall mount.
No suspects have been identified as of yet.
