The shooting of 25 year old Manuel Garcia last week on Burnett Street between the Villager Inn and Flynn Sign Company may have been accidental.

Garcia recieved a single gun shot to the abdomen at around 6 pm Wednesday evening.  He was then air lifted to UT Medical Center for treatment.  Police then spent hours searching for witnesses and trying to piece together exactly what happened.  Video recorded from a camera at City Hall showed a male wearing a light shirt and blue jeans passing through the area around the time the shooting occured.  That man was never located.

After being interviewed in the hospital, Garcia reportedly told investigators that the shooting was accidental, but offered no additional information.
