CAMPBELL TASED BY CROSSVILLE POLICE, ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES
Crossville police responded yesterday to a home on Underwood Street for a welfare check. A consent search for safety reasons of one subject in the residence, 47-year-old Troy Wayne Campbell of Crossville, resulted in Campbell allegedly pulling away more than once from police. Campbell reportedly ran into a bathroom and reached into waist band area again. The officer deployed a taser hitting the suspect. Campbell attempted to get up and reach for his waist band. He was able to reportedly throw a small bag containing money and a crystal like substance into the toilet. The arrest report states police recovered the bag and officers found 39 pills as well as meth. Campbell was charged with resisting arrest, tampering with evidence, felony possession of meth, and possession of a Schedule II drug.
