CAR STOLEN IN COOKEVILLE RECOVERED AT CROSSVILLE MCDONALD’S

A vehicle stolen in Cookeville earlier this week was recovered later at a McDonald’s in Crossville. Cookeville Police sent a regional “be-on-the-lookout” for a 2004 Chevy Cavalier that had been stolen from a Lee St. apartment complex parking lot. The owner told police that the car was stolen while he was warming it up. Crossville Police were contacted after Putnam County authorities identified the location of the vehicle through its’ GPS’s ping. The Cav was parked at the Peavine Rd. McDonald’s. The suspect, 34-year-old Johnathan Woods of Knoxville, told officers a friend had told him he could use the car. The victim told police that he did not know either the “friend” or Woods. Woods was charged with theft of a vehicle and driving on a revoked license.
