CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS INCREASE IN CUMBERLAND, ROANE, MORGAN AND LOUDON COUNTY
Law enforcement is reporting an increase in catalytic converter thefts from parked vehicles in Cumberland, Roane, Morgan and Loudon counties. The thieves have struck car lots, automobile repair businesses and vans parked at churches. They cut the converter off then sell it to metal scrap yards for $200-$300. This costs the unsuspecting victim to replace.
