“Catoosa WMA staff will be implementing prescribed fire during the month of March.

Prescribed fire is the most effective method for improving food and cover availability for game and non-game species alike. These fires will be used to maintain the restored oak savannas on Otter Creek Road and Myatt Creek Road.

savannas are one of the imperiled ecosystems in Tennessee. These areas contain great diversity of plants and animals.”
