CA– USE OF FIRE UNDETERMINED THAT DESTROYED CROSSVILLE BUSINESS

Fire investigators will be on the scene as early as Monday morning trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed Mullins Oak LLC last night in Crossville.

Fire units from the city, as well as Cumberland County firefighters, responded to the scene at the corner of Hassler Lane and East First Street around 6:20 last night. Crews arrived to find the structure fully engulfed by fire.

Captain Danny Tollett of the Crossville Fire Department told 105.7 News this morning that it took about an hour to get the fire out. “We were on the scene for over five hours total,” said Tollett.

No injuries were reported from either employees of Mullins Oak LLC or the emergency crews that responded to battle the blaze.

A cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. The business was a total loss.

Tollett said the Fairfield Glade Fire Department came into Crossville to handle possible calls from other areas in town during the Mullins Oak LLC fire. Also, crews from the Cumberland County Rescue Squad responded to aid in traffic control and get drinking water to the firefighters.

The Crossville Police Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol also responded to aid in traffic control.

Mullins Oak LLC employed roughly two dozen people. The company made staves, one of the thin narrow pieces of wood that form the sides of a cask or barrel.
