The Cumberland County School Board recently approved a proposal by Excel Energy Group for an LED lighting upgrade plan that is projected to save the school system $242,878 annually.

The new plan is expected to reduce energy usage by up to 60% as well as feature longer lifespans for equipment including bulbs and improve overall lighting quality in each School.

Plans will include the upgrading and or replacement of approximately $13,900 lighting fixtures and associated lamps and ballasts. The initial cost for the plan is projected to be $2,131,919.
