Charlotte Light Hamby, age 83, of Rockwood, passed away April 3, 2021. She was born on February 3, 1938 in Oak Ridge. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockwood and also participated in their Joy Fellowship group. She was preceded in death by her mother: Helen Tyson; husbands: William Anton Hamby, Lester True, and Jim Hamby. She is survived by her daughters: Melissa Ashby (Kyle) of Winchester, Tennessee and Kim Smith (Scott) of Rockwood; stepchildren: Tony Hamby (Kathy) of Bronson, Florida and Joy Hamby of Cookeville; grandchildren: Carter Ashby (June), Rachel Ashby, and Jackson Ashby, Sydney Smith, Maddie Smith, and Peyton Robinette; sister-in-law: Marjorie Burdette of Rockwood; and special friends: Lillie Newcome of Kingston, Betty Hensley of Knoxville, Molly Richards of Kingston, and Martha Houston of Rockwood. The family will receive friends Monday, April 5, 2021 from 5 until 7 p.m. eastern in the chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow. Graveside and interment services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. eastern in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood. Evans Mortuary in Rockwood is serving the family.
