CHATTANOOGA OFFICERS MAKE SIGNIFICANT ARREST WHEN REPORTED THEFT LEADS TO STOLEN GUNS USED IN CRIMES

On July 13th, Chattanooga Police Department officers were called to a reported theft in progress, with a neighbor saying several men were trying to break into a vehicle. Officers located 2 stolen vehicles and a discarded stolen firearm at the undisclosed residence.
The Chattanooga Police Department Gun Team obtained a search warrant that ended with these items recovered:
- Ruger 57 pistal with a loaded magazine (stolen)
- Ruger SR9C pistol with a loaded magazine (stolen)
- Springfield XD 45 pistol with loaded magazine
- Glock 22 .40 pistol with loaded magazine
- Century Arms .308 rifle with a loaded magazine (stolen)
- Three additional loaded .308 magazines
- 1.26 grams of suspected powder fentanyl
- 1.21 grams of blue pills, suspected fentanyl
- Five suspected stolen vehicle key fobs – General Motors, Mercedes, Audi & BMW.
Three of the firearms processed were found to have been used in various gun crimes in the city.
This case is still under investigation and names and residences have not been released.
