Christine Williamson (Miss Chattanooga 2018) was crowned Miss Tennessee Saturday night at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson. Miss Gallatin 2018, Samantha Havenstrite, was first runner up. Miss Knoxville 2018, Brianna Mason, was second runner up. In addition to the title and a gleaming tiara, Williamson, a grad student at U.T. Chattanooga, gets a scholarship.

Williamson, whose platform is Alzheimer’s awareness, called her win “nothing short of exciting, overwhelming and humbling” in post-pageant tweet.

She will compete in the Miss America competition September 9.
