On Christmas Day around 5:30 p.m., a car struck a power pole in the Half Moon Shores area of South Roane County, resulting in minor injuries to the driver. The crash knocked down the power pole, causing outages in some nearby areas.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating both this incident and the motorcycle crash on Lawnville Road near Hamilton Road, which occurred early Saturday morning just before 1:00 a.m.
