CHRISTMAS TREE PRICES ON THE RISE THIS YEAR
Along with clothing, electronics and toy purchases over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, shoppers also took the time to buy up Christmas Trees. Most found a slight increase in prices. According to growers, less Christmas trees were planted about ten years ago when the economy began it’s downswing. They say it takes most trees 10-12 years to grow, resulting in the year’s price increase. Most trees, particularly those in larger areas, saw a 17 percent price jump.
