CIGARETTE-WIELDING MAN POURS GAS ON BROTHER’S CAR, GETS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
Friday afternoon, Crossville police responded to the Peacock gas station at 4124 U.S. Highway 127 North. A vehicle had been backed into and a subject poured gasoline onto another vehicle occupied by two people.
On arrival, officers learned the subject, 21-year-old Tristan Monroe King, was the brother of one of the victims.
Officers viewed the video footage of the incident, which showed King striking his brother’s vehicle “relatively hard in the rear,” then got out of his vehicle, banging on the driver’s-side door. That’s when he began pouring gasoline on his brother’s vehicle.
In the video, King is also seen with a cigarette in his mouth and his hand while pouring the gasoline.
King was arrested at his home the following morning, and was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment. He was placed under $22,000 bond. A court date is set for March 11.
