CITY OF CROSSVILLE ISSUES STATEMENT ON FIRST CASE OF CORONAVIRUS REPORTED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

The City of Crossville issued a statement this morning regarding yesterday’s first confirmed case of coronavirus in Cumberland County. The statement is as follows:

“The first positive case of the coronavirus has been verified in Cumberland County. It is not unexpected and we have been preparing for it. The county has made the courthouse open by appointment only. We support them in this move since they have many more customers for their functions. The city has not made the move to appointment only access yet. We are, however, STRONGLY URGING our customers to use the online services which we have outlined on our Facebook page and website. We would also ask that you use our drive-up window for your water payments if you do not want to make them online or by phone. We have waived the credit card fees and the phone fees during this public health event. If you have questions regarding your water bill or any other city business, please call us.

Please continue to practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended. If the case load rises in Cumberland County, we will follow the county’s lead and limit access to City Hall if it becomes necessary.”
