CLARK SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR MURDER

Cumberland County Criminal Court Judge Gary McKenzie sentenced 35-year-old Doneal Marie Clark today to life in prison with the possibility of parole for felony murder. Court officials confirmed Clark also received two 25 year sentences on two counts of attempted first-degree murder to serve concurrently.

Clark entered the guilty pleas in connection to the death of 74-year-old Linda Damewood at her Lake Tansi home in January 2019.

Her husband, Kirk Douglas Clark, also faces charges including first-degree murder in connection with the incident. He will appear in court at a later time.

Back on that fatal day, the sheriff’s office, Lake Tansi Security and Tennessee Highway Patrol all responded to a reported shooting at 8610 Cherokee Trail. They found three people shot, one of them fatally. Damewood was shot once in the head as she sat in her recliner; her siblings, 63-year-old Andrew Schan and 73-year-old Ellen Cairns, were wounded.
