Claude Phillip Smith, Jr., age 78, of Pikeville, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026. Claude served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was of the Church of God Faith, and enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing.

Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Smith; daughter, Donna Gail Smith; parents, Claude Phillip, Sr. and Ruth Brock Smith; brother, Eddie Clyde Smith.

Claude is survived by his son, Billy (Nicole) Smith; daughter, Tracie (Jason) Yother; grandchildren, Haylyn, Matthew, Hannah, and Harper; sisters, Brenda (Lonnie) Brandt, Nebraska and Mary Frances Christian, Dunlap; children they loved as their own, Corey (Nicole) McCloud, Alyssa (Leah) Russell, and Dillyn Keith; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.

A celebration of life with military honors will be held at 1:00pm CDT Monday, October 12, 2026 in the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronny Colvard officiating. Burial will be in Humble Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm-8:00pm CDT Sunday, October 11, 2026 and 9:00am CDT until service time Monday at Pikeville Funeral Home.
