CLEVELAND BAYMONT INN RECEIVES NEAR FAILING HEALTH SCORE
On April 23, 2025, a routine inspection at the Baymont Inn located at 360 Paul Huff Pkwy NW, Cleveland, TN, resulted in a score of 73, highlighting significant issues across multiple areas. The inspection, covering rooms 107, 209, 211, 216, 214, and 210, identified critical safety violations, including unlabeled chemical spray bottles on housekeeping carts and in the laundry room, posing potential hazards.
Additionally, non-functional smoke detectors in rooms 211 and 210 raised serious fire safety concerns, while poorly maintained stairs and walls/ceilings in the laundry room and several rooms (209, 210, 214, 216) indicated structural neglect.
Cleanliness was a major issue, with dirty shower curtains and tubs in room 107, window sills in room 214, and various furniture and appliances—such as nightstands (107, 210, 214), refrigerators (209), microwaves (214), and dresser/nightstand drawers (211, 216)—found in unsanitary conditions. Floors in rooms 107, 209, 216, and 210 were also reported as dirty or stained. These cleanliness issues were compounded by repeat violations in furniture, appliance, and bedding maintenance, with bedding in poor repair in rooms 211, 216, and 214.
Functional deficiencies further degraded the guest experience, including a non-working phone in room 107, a faulty vanity light in room 214, and insufficient lighting in the housekeeping cart hallway. Amenities were inadequate, with missing ice bucket liners in room 209, insufficient hangers in multiple rooms (107, 209, 211, 216, 210), and only one chair provided in rooms 107, 209, 216, and 214.
Despite compliance with the TN Non-Smoker Protection Act and no tobacco products offered for sale, the inspection underscored the need for urgent corrective actions to address safety, cleanliness, and maintenance deficiencies at the Baymont Inn.
