CLOSING ARGUMENTS TO START IN JOSEPH DANIELS MURDER CASE
Closing arguments will start in court today (Friday, June 11, 2021) in Dickson County in the murder trial of Joseph Daniels. The jury will get the case after the defense and prosecuting attorneys present their final comments. Daniels is accused of killing his 5-year-old son Joe Clyde in April 2018 and then getting rid of his body, which has not been found. Daniels faces first degree murder, first degree murder in perpetration of a felony, aggravated child abuse, initiating a false report and tampering with evidence. Joseph Daniels did not testify in the trial.
His wife, Krystal Daniels witnessed the fatal beating, but went to bed instead of helping her son, according to investigators. She is charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect and will be tried separately from her husband.
